A wheel that spins right inside your notes

Notion can show almost any web page inside a block, which is how people add clocks, weather and, here, random tools. The widget maker above is set to the spin wheel, but one tap on the tool name switches it to dice, coin flip, name picker, random number or teams. Once you have chosen the tool, it takes three steps.

  1. Tap Link for Notion: the widget's address is copied.
  2. In your Notion page, type /embed, choose the embed block and paste the link.
  3. Confirm, then drag the edges of the block to the size you want.

Ideas for your Notion workspace

  • Team meetings. A wheel with the team's names at the top of the meeting page: who runs it, who takes notes, who speaks first.
  • Chore boards. A chore wheel on the family or house-share dashboard, to share out the jobs nobody wants.
  • Study pages. A name picker filled with chapters or exam questions, so you revise in a random order.
  • Tabletop games. The dice roller next to the character sheet and campaign notes.

How it works

  1. Pick a tool

Tap the tool name in the sentence at the top: wheel, dice, coin flip, name picker, teams… The preview shows the widget right away.

  2. Choose a size and a color

Pick Small, Medium or Large. The widget takes the color of the page: change it with the palette at the bottom right.

  3. Copy the code

Tap Copy code and paste it into your site, or tap Link for Notion and paste the link into an Embed block.

Good to know before you add it

The widget does not read your Notion databases. You type the list into the widget itself by tapping the list button (“8 Names” at first), and it stays in your browser. A teammate who opens the same page sees the sample list, not yours, so for a draw in a meeting, one person spins and shares the screen.

The widget keeps the color this page has at the moment you copy the link. If you work in dark mode, pick a dark color with the palette at the bottom right before tapping Link for Notion, and the block will blend into your page. The width follows the block; if the wheel looks cut off, drag the edges of the block to make it bigger.

Questions

Does the widget read my Notion database?

No. It does not connect to your Notion account and cannot see your pages. You type the list into the widget, and it stays in your browser.

Why Link for Notion and not Copy code?

Notion embeds web addresses, not pasted HTML. Link for Notion copies the widget's address, color included, which is exactly what the /embed block expects.

Do my teammates see the same result as me?

No. Everyone who opens the page makes their own draws. For a shared draw, spin during the meeting while sharing your screen, then write the result in the page.

Can I put several widgets on one page?

Yes. Repeat the steps for each tool: a wheel for the team, a die for a game, a coin flip to settle a tie. Each tool keeps its own settings.

Are the widgets free?

Yes. Every widget is free, with no account and no visit limit. Copy the code and you are done.
