Six teams suits a pub quiz with six tables, a field day with a few dozen children, or a company event where everyone needs a group. The page opens on Make 6 teams: paste the attendee list, press the button, and the names are dealt into six teams that differ by one person at most. Thirty-six guests make six teams of six.
Random tables mix people who would otherwise sit with their usual crowd. Print the teams or read them out at the door, and put a numbered card on each table. Six teams also keeps the answer sheets manageable for one quizmaster. If guests arrive late, add their names and use the team with the fewest people.
Six teams of four or five children rotate well between six activities. Give each team an adult leader and a color. When the day ends, the copied list tells you exactly who was in which team for the points tally.
With 24 to 30 students, six teams gives groups of four or five, a good size for projects where everyone has a role. Teachers who think in group sizes rather than group counts can use groups of 4 or groups of 5 instead.
Fewer people? Try 5 teams. Running a knockout? 8 teams fits a bracket exactly.
Every team meets every other team once: 15 matches over 5 rounds.

Fifteen. Each team plays five games, and with three courts the schedule fits in five rounds.
Four teams of seven and two of six. The difference is never more than one person.
Pressing Make teams again reshuffles everyone. To keep the existing teams, copy them first, then place latecomers by hand in the smallest team.
