Would you rather, food edition

Nothing splits a table faster than food. Deep-dish or thin crust, crunchy or smooth peanut butter, ketchup or mustard on a hot dog: everyone has a firm opinion and loves defending it. This page collects would you rather questions about snacks, comfort food, breakfasts, desserts and table habits, with plenty of American classics and a few dishes from farther away. Every age can play, and nobody has to taste anything.

How to play at the table

  • Between courses, read a question and take a show of hands. Tap the winning option to show it big on screen.
  • Build the menu. Write down the winner of each question. At the end, read out the table's ideal menu. It is usually gloriously weird.
  • Defend the dish. Anyone who voted alone has 20 seconds to sell their pick like a food critic.

Two options appear in two big boxes. Read them out loud: every question comes from this page’s list.

  2. Pick your side

Everyone chooses. Tap the winning option and it is highlighted for the whole group to see.

  3. Get the next one

Tap again or press Next question. The counter shows how far you are, with no repeats until the end of the list.

Ideas for using these questions

  • At family dinners, food questions steer clear of touchy topics and get every generation talking.
  • In class, they open a lesson on nutrition, world cuisines or where food comes from.
  • When nobody can decide on dinner, run three questions and let the majority choose. Still tied between two places? Let the coin flip settle it.
  • At a potluck, ask a question per dish as it comes out, and let the cook break any ties.

One rule: you can roast a dish, never the person who loves it.

Questions

Are the questions only about American food?

Many are American classics like mac and cheese or corn dogs, but there are also questions about sushi, ramen, tiramisu and other dishes from around the world.

Do players have to eat anything?

No. Everyone answers based on taste or imagination. Nobody has to eat or try anything.

Are these food questions good for kids?

Yes. They are about snacks, breakfasts, desserts and everyday meals, and kids love defending their favorite fries.

Are there questions about diets or calories?

No. The questions are about taste and habits only, never about weight, calories or diets. Food allergies are not an issue either, since nobody eats anything during the game.

Are these would you rather questions free?

Yes. The page is free, funded by ads, and needs no account or app. It works in your browser.
