Would you rather, couples edition

A pottery class or a cooking class, a cabin weekend or a city hotel, a rescue dog or a summer of fostering kittens: behind these light questions, you learn how your partner pictures your life together. They work for couples on a third date and for couples who have shared a couch for years. Everything is sweet and playful, and nothing is dirty.

The guessing game

  • Guess first. For each question, one of you predicts out loud what the other will choose. Then the other taps their real answer.
  • Keep score. After ten questions, you will know who reads whom better. Swap roles and play again.
  • Talk it out. When your answers differ, each of you explains. That is usually where you learn something new.

How it works

  1. Read the question

Two options appear in two big boxes. Read them out loud: every question comes from this page’s list.

  2. Pick your side

Everyone chooses. Tap the winning option and it is highlighted for the whole group to see.

  3. Get the next one

Tap again or press Next question. The counter shows how far you are, with no repeats until the end of the list.

Any suggestions for improvement?

We build tools that are as simple and intuitive as possible, with a few bonuses here and there. Tell us what would make this one better.

When to play together

  • On a long drive or flight, when you have already talked about everything else.
  • Long distance, on a video call: each of you opens the page and reads the question to the other. It works over text too.
  • On an early date, the questions give you plenty to talk about without getting too personal too fast.
  • On your anniversary, write your answers down and play again next year. Some of them will change.

A few questions touch on future plans. If one does not fit where you are right now, just skip to the next.

Questions

Are these couples questions dirty?

No. They are sweet and light: dates, trips, habits and plans. They suit any couple, including brand-new ones.

How do you play would you rather as a couple?

One partner guesses what the other will pick, then the other answers. One point per correct guess, and switch roles every ten questions.

Can we play long distance?

Yes. On a video call or over text, each of you opens this page and reads the question to the other before comparing answers.

What if we disagree on a lot of answers?

That is normal, and often the best part. Different answers are a reason to ask questions, not a sign of a problem. Use them to learn something about your partner's tastes, then move on to the next one.

Are these would you rather questions free?

Yes. The page is free, funded by ads, and needs no account or app. It works in your browser.
