Would you rather questions for kids

Kids love being asked to choose, especially when both options sound amazing. These would you rather questions are written for ages 5 to 10, using things they already know: class pets, spelling bees, snow days, playgrounds, field trips and lemonade stands. None of them are scary and none need special knowledge. All it takes is imagination and a strong opinion about llamas versus parrots.

How to play with kids

  • A grown-up reads the question slowly, pointing at the two boxes on the screen. Older kids can read it themselves.
  • Pick a side of the room. Kids walk to the left or right side depending on their answer, or simply raise a hand. Whoever holds the tablet taps the winner.
  • Ask "why?" Have one kid from each side explain their choice in a single sentence. That is where the best answers come from.

  2. Pick your side

Everyone chooses. Tap the winning option and it is highlighted for the whole group to see.

  3. Get the next one

Tap again or press Next question. The counter shows how far you are, with no repeats until the end of the list.

Any suggestions for improvement?

We build tools that are as simple and intuitive as possible, with a few bonuses here and there. Tell us what would make this one better.

In class, at dinner or in the car

  • Morning meeting. One or two questions are an easy way to get quieter students talking, with no right or wrong answer. They also make a great writing prompt: "I would rather… because…".
  • At dinner. Instead of "How was school?", try a would you rather question. Kids tell you far more.
  • In the car. The questions are quick to read and need no screen to answer, which makes them perfect for long drives.
  • Drawing time. Little ones draw the option they picked, then compare drawings with a friend.

There are no wrong answers here, and nobody laughs at someone's choice, no matter how surprising it is.

Questions

What age are these questions for?

Kids from about 5 to 10. Pre-readers can play easily when a grown-up reads the questions out loud.

Can teachers use them in class?

Yes. The page works on a classroom display or projector, and the Next question button moves on with one tap.

How many kids questions are there?

More than 40, all different from the kids category in the main game. The counter below the boxes shows how far you are.

Are any of the questions scary?

No. Nobody gets chased, lost or hurt in any question. Even the ghost in the closet and the monster under the bed are described as friendly, so sensitive kids can play too.

Are these would you rather questions free?

Yes. The page is free, funded by ads, and needs no account or app. It works in your browser.
