Roll a d20 online

Attack rolls, ability checks, saving throws: tabletop role-playing games lean on the twenty-sided die, the d20, and one is ready to roll here. Tap it, press Roll or hit the Space bar. Each number from 1 to 20 has a 1 in 20 chance, or 5%, on every roll.

The d20 in role-playing games

In Dungeons & Dragons and many games inspired by it, the d20 decides whether an action works: you roll, add your bonus and try to reach a target number. On an attack roll, a natural 20 (a 20 on the die itself) is a critical hit, and a natural 1 always misses. Each has a 5% chance.

To roll with advantage or disadvantage, tap “one die” and choose 2 dice: keep the higher roll for advantage, the lower one for disadvantage. The average roll of a d20 is 10.5.

How it works

  1. Your dice are ready

The dice for this page are already on the table, and the sentence under them says how many and how many sides. No setup needed.

  2. Roll them

Tap the dice, press Roll or hit the Space bar. They tumble, land, and the result appears at the top.

  3. Keep, re-roll or switch

Tap a die to keep it while the others re-roll; Release all frees them. To roll something else, tap the number of dice or sides in the sentence.
