Oz Lotto number generator

Oz Lotto is Australia’s Tuesday night lottery. In a standard game, you choose seven numbers from 1 to 47. At the draw, ten balls come out: the first seven are the winning numbers, and the last three are the supplementary numbers. Division 1, all seven winning numbers, is the jackpot, with a minimum of $3 million that rolls over until someone wins it.

The game has seven divisions, down to Division 7 for three winning numbers plus at least one supplementary. The format has been in place since May 2022, when the game moved from 45 to 47 numbers and from two supplementaries to three. With 62,891,499 possible games, Division 1 is a long shot even by lottery standards.

Press Quick pick for seven different numbers in order, on up to 10 games. You don’t choose supplementary numbers: they are drawn from the same barrel and only count in Divisions 2, 4 and 7, where the table shows how many you need.

How to read the supplementaries

A supplementary only helps with the numbers you missed. If six of your seven numbers are winning numbers, your seventh number has three chances to be a supplementary, which lifts you from Division 3 to Division 2. That is why Division 2 is more than 12 times rarer than Division 3, and why so many prizes need “+ 1 supplementary”.

  • About one game in 50 wins a prize, most often Division 7.
  • Same odds for every game. A quick pick and your favourite numbers are drawn from the same 47 balls.
  • Big jackpots draw big crowds. Random numbers are less likely to be shared than birthdays, but they win just as rarely.
