Powerball number generator

Powerball is the multi-state lottery game sold in 45 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. A play costs $2. You choose five white balls from 1 to 69 and one red Powerball from 1 to 26. Drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

Press Quick pick and the generator draws five different white numbers, sorted from low to high, plus a Powerball from its own pool of 26. That second pool is why the Powerball can repeat one of your white numbers, just as it can on a real ticket. Need lines for an office pool? Choose 10 lines, then press Copy to paste the whole list into the group chat.

The table below lists all nine ways to win, with odds worked out from the 292,201,338 possible lines. Two rows deserve a second look. Five white balls without the Powerball pay $1 million, and that is 25 times more likely than the jackpot. And most of the prizes players actually collect come from the red ball: matching the Powerball alone pays $4, about once every 38 plays.

Honest tips for Powerball players

  • Random lines share less, they don’t win more. Numbers up to 31 are played far more often because of birthdays, so a jackpot on a “calendar” line is more likely to be split. A random line has exactly the same chance to win and a smaller chance of sharing.
  • Power Play multiplies prizes, not odds. For $1 more per play, it multiplies the non-jackpot prizes by 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10, and turns the $1 million prize into $2 million. The 10X multiplier is only in play when the advertised jackpot is $150 million or less.
  • Double Play, offered in some states, enters the same numbers in a second drawing with its own prize table and a $10 million top prize.
  • A record jackpot doesn’t change the odds. It only brings more players, so more people to share with.

Since July 2026, Powerball is also sold in the United Kingdom, at £4 a line, with its own prize table and the same rolling jackpot.

Play for fun, with a budget you set before buying, and only through your official state lottery. You must be of legal age where you buy, which is 18 in most states. If gambling stops being fun, the National Problem Gambling Helpline is open 24/7: call or text 1-800-MY-RESET.

Questions

What are the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot?

1 in 292,201,338 for each $2 play. You need all five white balls from 1 to 69 plus the Powerball from 1 to 26.

Can the Powerball be the same number as a white ball?

Yes. The Powerball is drawn from its own pool of 1 to 26, so it can match one of the white numbers on the same line. The generator works the same way.

When are Powerball drawings held?

Every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night, at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

Does Power Play improve my chances?

No. Power Play multiplies what you win, but the chance of matching the numbers is the same with or without it.

Is this lottery number generator free?

Yes. It is free to use, funded by advertising, with no account and no app to install. It does not sell tickets and has no link with any lottery operator.
