Spin for a random sport

Soccer, basketball and rugby share the slices with racket sports, water sports, winter sports and a few backyard favorites like dodgeball and ultimate: 24 sports played around the world. Each has a 1 in 24 chance, about 4.2%.

Ideas for the sports wheel

  • PE warm-up. Spin, and the whole class mimes the sport for 30 seconds: a tennis serve, a swimming stroke, a golf swing.
  • Sports charades. One player spins in secret and acts it out; the first to guess spins next.
  • Trivia round. Spin and answer: how many players per team, how long is a match, what is the ball or field called?
  • Try something new. Spin once a month and try the sport that comes up, even if it is just bowling or a few shots on a public court.
  • Field day. Spin to decide the next event at a school or family field day.

Tap the wheel or the Spin button in its center, press Space, or flick the wheel with your finger or mouse.

  3. See the winner

Questions

Can I make a wheel with only team sports?

Yes. Delete the individual sports from the list, or type the team sports your class plays. Each line is one slice.

Is it soccer or football?

The wheel says soccer, as in the United States. Change the line to football if that is what you call it; the wheel takes any word you type.

Can I turn the wheel into a party game?

Yes. Spin a sport, then each guest has thirty seconds to name as many words linked to it as they can: equipment, rules, famous moves. The longest list wins the round.

Can I use it to choose teams?

Not this wheel, but the team generator splits a list of names into fair, random teams in one tap.

Is this wheel of names free?

Yes. It is free to use, funded by advertising, with no account and no app to install.
