What would your superpower be? Spin

Flight, invisibility and super strength are here, and so are talking to animals, perfect memory and speaking every language: 18 classic superpowers in all. Each has a 1 in 18 chance. No famous heroes, only powers, so you can invent your own character.

Ideas for the superpower wheel

  • Create a hero. Spin a power, then give your hero a name, a costume, a weakness and a reason to fight. Draw it, too.
  • Two-power heroes. Spin twice and combine: a hero who can shrink and talk to animals has very different adventures from one who can fly and read minds.
  • Debate club. Spin two powers and argue which one is better. Our would you rather game has more dilemmas.
  • Writing prompt. "You wake up with this power, but only for one day." Spin, and write what happens.
  • Useless superpower round. Each player spins, then explains how they would use the power to do something boring, like folding laundry.

A good hero also needs a weakness. Spin the power, then let the group choose something that cancels it: a flyer who is afraid of heights, an invisible hero who can't stop humming.

Questions

Can I add powers from my favorite stories?

Yes. Type any power on a new line. Use the power rather than the hero's name, so the wheel stays about your own characters.

Is it good for a classroom?

Yes. It is a quick creative writing or art starter. Each student spins, and you get a class gallery of heroes that are all different.

Which is the best superpower?

That is what the debate game is for. The wheel gives every power the same chance, so it has no favorite.

How do I give each student a different power?

Press Remove after each spin. With more students than powers, add new powers or let pairs share one.

Is this wheel of names free?

Yes. It is free to use, funded by advertising, with no account and no app to install.
