Yes, no, or maybe?

Sometimes a straight yes or no is too blunt. This wheel adds a third slice: maybe. It has three equal parts, so each answer comes up one time in three, 33.3%. Ask your question out loud, tap Spin, and let the wheel answer. If you only want yes or no, use the yes or no wheel.

What does "maybe" mean?

Decide before you spin, or the game falls apart. Three popular house rules:

  • Spin again. Maybe means ask again, but the second answer is final.
  • Your call. Maybe hands the decision back to you. It is surprising how often you then know what you want.
  • Half and half. Maybe means a compromise: one episode instead of three, dessert to share, a short walk instead of a run.

Change the balance

Each line is a slice, so typing an answer twice makes it more likely. A few common setups:

For a more theatrical answer, try the magic ball, or flip a coin for a quick 50/50.

How it works

  1. Add your entries

Type names or options in the box, one per line. Your list stays saved in this browser.

  2. Spin the wheel

Tap the wheel or the Spin button in its center, press Space, or flick the wheel with your finger or mouse.

  3. See the winner

The wheel slows down and stops on one slice. Spin again, or remove the winner to draw the next one.

Questions

Is the yes, no, maybe wheel fair?

Yes. The three slices are the same size and the answer is drawn at random before the wheel turns, so each answer has exactly a 1 in 3 chance.

Can I add "Ask again later"?

Yes. Type it on a new line and the wheel gets a fourth slice. Each answer then has a 1 in 4 chance.

What is it good for?

Small decisions you are happy to leave to chance: one more episode, takeout tonight, text them back now. It is also a fun party game for silly questions.

Should I use it for important decisions?

No. Use it for fun and for low-stakes choices. For anything that matters, a wheel can at most show you which answer you were hoping for.

Is this wheel of names free?

Yes. It is free to use, funded by advertising, with no account and no app to install.
