Spin for a random job

What do you want to be when you grow up? Firefighter, chef, vet, astronaut, plumber, librarian, programmer and more: the wheel offers 24 jobs that children know or can discover. Each has a 1 in 24 chance, about 4.2%. Use it for guessing games, career day, role play in kindergarten or vocabulary lessons.

Games with the job wheel

  • What's my job? One player spins in secret. The others ask yes or no questions: do you work outside, do you wear a uniform, do you work with animals?
  • Job charades. Act out the job without words. The first person to guess spins next.
  • Career day. Each student spins a job, finds out what training it needs and presents it in two minutes.
  • Story starter. Spin a job and the superpower wheel, then write about a dentist who can freeze time.
  • Role play corner. In preschool, spin the job of the day and set up the play area to match.

Questions

Can I add jobs from my own family or town?

Yes. Type them on new lines: bus driver, nurse assistant, fisherman, bookseller. Jobs children see around them make the best games.

Is it useful for English lessons?

Yes. Spin, say the job, then make a sentence: "A baker makes bread." It works well for learners from beginner level.

Can I avoid repeats when every student needs a job?

Press Remove after each spin so the job leaves the wheel. With a big class, add more jobs so there are enough for everyone.

Are the jobs for boys or for girls?

Every job on the wheel is for anyone. The names are written so they work for everybody.

Is this wheel of names free?

Yes. It is free to use, funded by advertising, with no account and no app to install.
