Random number from 1 to 52

Fifty-two is the number of cards in a standard deck and, give or take a day or two, the number of weeks in a year. This page is set to 1 through 52. Press Generate and each number has a chance of one in fifty-two, just under 2%.

A week of the year

A year has 52 weeks plus one day, or two in a leap year. Pick a week for a vacation, a team offsite or a family visit, then look it up in a calendar that shows week numbers. Week numbering differs slightly between countries, so check which convention your calendar uses before you book anything.

The 52-week savings challenge, shuffled

In the classic version you save 1 in week one, 2 in week two, and so on up to 52 in the last week: 1,378 in total. The catch is that the biggest amounts all land at the end of the year, often around the holidays. Shuffle it instead: each week, generate a number from 1 to 52 and save that amount, crossing it off a list. If a number you already used comes up, press again. You still reach 1,378, but the big weeks are spread out.

A card from the deck

Read numbers 1 to 13 as ace to king of the first suit, 14 to 26 as the second suit, 27 to 39 as the third and 40 to 52 as the fourth. Turn on No repeats to deal a hand without duplicates. If you would rather see the cards, the card tool draws real faces from a shuffled deck.

How it works

  1. The range is set

The lowest and highest numbers for this page are already in the sentence at the top, and both can come up. Nothing to type before your first pick.

  2. Pick your number

Press Generate or the Space bar, or tap the number. The reel rolls like a slot machine and stops on the result.

  3. Change it if you need to

Tap how many numbers you want in the sentence to get up to 20 at once; No repeats keeps them all different. Tap either end of the range to type a new one.
