Spin the wheel, do the exercise

A corner of the living room or a patch of park is enough for the 20 bodyweight exercises on this wheel: push-ups, squats, lunges, planks, burpees, mountain climbers and more. No equipment needed, apart from a chair for tricep dips. Spin, do the exercise, spin again. Every exercise has a 1 in 20 chance, so you never know what is next.

Three ways to build a workout

  • Interval rounds. 40 seconds of work, 20 seconds of rest while you spin the next one. Ten rounds make a short, hard session.
  • Every minute on the minute. Spin at the start of each minute, do 10 reps, and rest for the rest of the minute.
  • Ladder. Spin an exercise and do 5 reps, then 10, then 15. Spin a new one for the next ladder.
  • Family or class warm-up. In PE or at home, let a different child spin each round. Keep the reps low and the pace fun.

Go at your own level: knee push-ups, step-back instead of jump squats, a shorter plank. Stop if something hurts.

How often will burpees come up?

Everyone hopes not to land on burpees. Here are the real odds in a 20-slice wheel, with repeats allowed:

Workout lengthChance of at least one burpee round
5 spins22.6%
10 spins40.1%
20 spins64.2%

Press Remove after each spin if you want every exercise once at most.

How it works

  1. Add your entries

Type names or options in the box, one per line. Your list stays saved in this browser.

  2. Spin the wheel

Tap the wheel or the Spin button in its center, press Space, or flick the wheel with your finger or mouse.

  3. See the winner

The wheel slows down and stops on one slice. Spin again, or remove the winner to draw the next one.

Questions

Can I add my own exercises?

Yes. Type them on new lines: kettlebell swings, skipping rope, pull-ups, stretches for a cool-down. Delete what you can't or don't want to do.

Can I use the wheel for a cool-down too?

Yes. Clear the list and type stretches instead, such as hamstring stretch, child's pose or calf stretch, and spin three or four of them at the end.

Is the workout wheel good for kids?

Yes, with a shorter list of moves they can do safely, such as jumping jacks, high knees, bear crawls and squats, and with a time limit rather than a number of reps.

Can the wheel time my intervals?

No, it only picks the exercise. Use a timer or a stopwatch next to it, and spin during the rest period.

Is this wheel of names free?

Yes. It is free to use, funded by advertising, with no account and no app to install.
