Pick between and
One in a million, for real: the range on this page runs from 1 to 1,000,000, and every number has exactly the same chance of 0.0001% on each press of Generate. The reel rolls through seven digits and stops on the result.
Pick a number now and write it down. The chance that the next press gives the same number is one in a million. If you pressed once per second, around the clock, you would need more than eleven days just to make a million presses, and even then a match is not guaranteed: after a million presses, the chance of having seen your number at least once is only about 63%.
Coincidences come faster than intuition says. Draw numbers one by one with No repeats off, and after only 1,178 draws the chance that two of them match passes 50%. That is the same mathematics as the birthday problem, scaled up. For IDs that must never collide, keep No repeats on within each press and check new numbers against the ones you already used.
1,000,000 possible numbers. What changes when you pick more than one at a time:
| Numbers picked | A given number is among them (No repeats on) | At least one number twice (No repeats off) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 0.0001% | 0% |
| 2 | 0.0002% | 0.0001% |
| 3 | 0.0003% | 0.0003% |
| 5 | 0.0005% | 0.001% |
| 10 | 0.001% | 0.0045% |
| 20 | 0.002% | 0.019% |
The lowest and highest numbers for this page are already in the sentence at the top, and both can come up. Nothing to type before your first pick.
Press Generate or the Space bar, or tap the number. The reel rolls like a slot machine and stops on the result.
Tap how many numbers you want in the sentence to get up to 20 at once; No repeats keeps them all different. Tap either end of the range to type a new one.

Yes. Each number from 1 to 1,000,000 has the same chance, 0.0001%, on every press. The tool removes the small bias that simple generators can have on large ranges.
Yes. Tap 1,000,000 in the sentence and type any whole number up to 999,999,999.
It varies, but after 1,178 draws with No repeats off, a repeat is more likely than not. On average, the first repeat arrives after about 1,250 draws.
